The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) is a certifying body with specific guidelines for certification and recertification. The following is a general outline of the integrity practices all applicants must follow, as well as specific rules for meeting certification requirements. The following is a summarized version of the Code of Conduct Policy, per the NREMT1:
- Complying with the terms of service of the NREMT website.
- Provide “truthful and updated1” information when communicating with the NREMT regarding certification of any kind.
- Provide up-to-date and correct documentation of training.
- Accurately represent your certification level to the public.
- Uphold professionalism and ethics consistent with the standards set forth by the NREMT.
- Maintain eligibility for unrestricted licensure within your jurisdiction(s).
- Do not engage in any form of cheating during the examination process.
All elements of the code of conduct refer back to the NREMT’s values of integrity, accountability, and transparency2. Without an honest, accountable, and transparent licensing body, the NREMT wouldn't be able to hold all those to whom it provides certification to a high standard of performance and professionalism.
