On July 1, 2024 the NREMT updated the AEMT and Paramedic cognitive exams and added a new domain called Clinical Judgment Scenarios.

Cognitive Exam Changes
As of July 1, 2024 the NREMT has made drastic changes to their certifications exams for the AEMT and Paramedic levels. A brand new domain will be assessed, known as clinical judgment.
New Question Phases
Clinical judgment questions are made up of 9-18 questions that cover the three major phases to EMS calls:

Phase 2:
Phase 3:
“What kind of questions will I be asked?”

- List building (sequential ordering)
