Effective 2025, all nationally registered EMS providers must meet adjusted continuing education requirements set forth by the NREMT, which sets the national standards of the National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) requirements. This change will affect anyone whose certification is set to expire on or after 3/31/2026. While the overall hour requirements will remain the same, the hour distribution and sub-category requirements will change. The chart below shows the proposed distribution of hours. Finally, the NCCP recommends that continuing education content includes and references Evidence-Based Guidelines (EBG) to ensure all providers remain well-rounded and relevant throughout their careers.
EMT-CE.com, a sister site to EMTprep.com, offers packages that allow students to meet ALL of the continuing education requirements set forth by the NCCP (National, State/Local, and Individual).
