Outline of the Key Initiative:
The NREMT is implementing a change called “Evidence-Based & Table of Authorities.” The aim is to maintain a bridge between updated scientific literature and examinations. This will ensure providers are entering the workforce with relevant patient assessment and management knowledge.
The National Clinical Guidelines Task Force, which consists of subject matter experts and EMS stakeholders, was created by the NREMT to shoulder the task of carrying out these ongoing evaluations and changes.
How Does This Impact My Testing?
As of now, there is no impact on testing. In the early stages, this process will involve adding “pilot” items, meaning they will not count toward one’s total score. Instead, they will be used to test the effectiveness of the questions.
When Can I Expect to See Changes?
Identifying and developing the new evidence-based guidelines is expected to continue through the end of 2023. These new guidelines are anticipated to be introduced in early 2024.
