
The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) developed a new recertification program, the National Continued Competency Program (NCCP). This new model allows EMS professionals to recertify through a consolidated and faster process. There are three categories of continuing education: National, Local, and Individual.

In your NREMT profile, what have you listed as your “home state?” The NCCP model depends on this. It is not mandatory for states to enforce the NCCP rectification model, thus in order to check is your state is eligible, please check the list below.
As EMS professionals complete continuing education courses, they will satisfy the different segments of the national component of the NCCP model. For example, if an EMS professional completes a 12-hour course, it may only fulfill four hours of the national content. The remaining eight hours can be applied to the local and/or individual content for recertification.
