Vermont EMS Exams Information

Vermont EMR Exams

All EMR candidates must register before taking their exam. At the EMR level, students fill out a paper application to sign up for a test site. The applications are typically provided by the instructor near the end of the course. EMR students who need to retest a failed skill station will receive a retest registration form in the mail with their results.

All AEMT level students, their instructors register for the practical exam. Students are able to sign up to retest if they fail the AEMT skills stations by contacting the EMS office. Registration for the AEMT exam site requires a PATT (Practical Authorization to Test) number, which is assigned once setting up your account with the National Registry.

Vermont Paramedic Exams

All Paramedic level students have their instructors register for the practical exam. Students are able to sign up to retest if they fail the Paramedic skills stations by contacting the EMS office. Registration for the Paramedic exam site requires a PATT (Practical Authorization to Test) number, which is assigned once setting up your account with the National Registry.

Requirements for Vermont EMS Certification

EMR - Emergency Medical Responder

To become an EMR in the state of Vermont, you must successfully complete an approved EMS program, be at least 18 years old, and pass all exams.
