Utah EMS Exams Information

Utah EMR Exams

To become an EMR in Utah you must successfully pass the National Registry cognitive and psychomotor exam. This test will be given through a Pearson VUE testing site. Please go to the National Registry website for more information.

Requirements for Utah EMS Certification

EMR - Emergency Medical Responder

For initial EMR licensure in the state of Utah, you must: successfully complete a state-approved course, a complete application within 30 days of courses start date, pay fees, submit fingerprints for a background check, and successfully pass the National Registry exams.

EMT - Emergency Medical Technician

For initial EMT licensure in the state of Utah, you must: successfully complete a state-approved course, a complete application within 30 days of courses start date, pay fees, submit fingerprints for a background check, and successfully pass the National Registry exams.

AEMT - Advanced Emergency Medical Technician
