Tennessee EMS Exams Information

Tennessee EMR Exams

To become an EMR in Tennessee, it is not necessary to take the National Registry exam. Your program will provide you with information to take a board approved written exam and you must obtain a passing score.

Tennessee EMT Exams

To become an EMT in Tennessee, you must achieve a passing score on an EMS board approved written and practical examination. Your program will provide you with information on signing up for these exams.

Tennessee AEMT Exams

To become an AEMT in Tennessee, you must achieve a passing score on an EMS board approved written and practical examination. Your program will provide you with information on signing up for these exams.

Tennessee Paramedic Exams

Requirements for Tennessee EMS Certification

EMR - Emergency Medical Responder

To become an EMR in Tennessee you must: submit a completed application, be at least 17 years old, complete a board-approved EMR training program, obtain a passing score on a written exam, and submit an application with fee.

To become an EMT in Tennessee you must: submit a completed application, be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma or G.E.D., complete a board-approved EMT training program, obtain a passing score on a written and practical exam, and submit an application with fee.

AEMT - Advanced Emergency Medical Technician

To become an AEMT in Tennessee you must: submit a completed application, be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma or G.E.D., submit 2 recent original letters from medical professionals attesting to character, complete a board-approved AEMT training program, obtain a passing score on a written and practical exam, complete background check, and submit an application with fee.
