Rhode Island EMR Exams

To become an EMR, you must successfully complete the psychomotor skills examination and the NREMT cognitive examination. Information will be given through your EMR program.

Requirements for Rhode Island EMS Certification

EMR - Emergency Medical Responder

To become a licensed EMR in Rhode Island you must be 18 years or older, possess current NREMT certification, provide a background check, pay an application fee, and any other information the Rhode Island Department of Health might require.

To become a licensed EMT in Rhode Island you must be 18 years or older, high school graduate or equivalent, possess current NREMT certification, provide a background check, pay an application fee, and any other information the Rhode Island Department of Health might require.

AEMT - Advanced Emergency Medical Technician
