Oklahoma EMS Exams Information

Oklahoma EMR Exams

There are two options in Oklahoma for taking the EMR exam. First, you are able to complete the National Registry exam, or you are able to sign up for the CareerTech sponsored EMR written exam. It does not matter which exam you chose to take, you just need proof of successfully passing one exam.

Oklahoma EMT Exams

To become a licensed EMT in Oklahoma you must pass the National Registry exam. Both exams, the Cognitive and psychomotor, need to be completed within 2 years from completing your EMS program.

Oklahoma AEMT Exams

To become a licensed AEMT in Oklahoma you must pass the National Registry exam. Both exams, the Cognitive and psychomotor, need to be completed within 2 years from completing your EMS program.

Oklahoma Paramedic Exams

To become a licensed Paramedic in Oklahoma you must pass the National Registry exam. Both exams, the Cognitive and psychomotor, need to be completed within 2 years from completing your EMS program.

Requirements for Oklahoma EMS Certification

EMR - Emergency Medical Responder

There are two tracks to become a lisenced EMR in Oklahoma. The first is becoming Nationally Registered by passing the NREMT, complete and sign an application, submit a copy of National Registry card, and submit a $10 fee. The second track is, complete application, submit $10 fee, proof of completion of EMR course, and proof of passing CaareerTech EMR written exam.

EMT - Emergency Medical Technician

To become a licensed EMT in Oklahoma you must first successfully complete an EMT program. Then to obtain your license, you must complete an application, submit a copy of your current National Registry card, submit an $85 fee, and read and understand the "Statutory and Regulator Requirements for Certified and Licensed Personnel.'

AEMT - Advanced Emergency Medical Technician

To become a licensed AEMT in Oklahoma you must first successfully complete an AEMT program. Then to obtain your license, you must complete an application, submit a copy of your current National Registry card, submit a $160 fee, read and understand the "Statutory and Regulator Requirements for Certified and Licensed Personnel,' and be required to provide proof of endotracheal intubation skills. You must register those skills with CareerTech at their website (www.ok_als.com), and place a copy of the signed off form in your application.

EMT-P - Paramedic

To become a licensed Paramedic in Oklahoma you must first successfully complete a Paramedic program. Then to obtain your license, you must complete an application, submit a copy of your current National Registry card, submit an $210 fee, and read and understand the "Statutory and Regulator Requirements for Certified and Licensed Personnel.'
