Ohio EMS Exams Information

Ohio EMR Exams

To be a licensed EMR in the state of Ohio, you must pass both exams, the written and the practical, which are established by the National Registry Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) and the board. The passing score on the written exam is determined by the NREMT. The passing score of the practical is determined by the board. Both exam portions are valid for one year from the date of successful completion.

EMR - Emergency Medical Responder

To become a licensed EMR in Ohio, you must: Be at least 18 years old, pass a background check, successfully complete an EMR training program through an accredited institution and receive a certificate, successfully complete FEMA training courses, Pass an initial certification examination, and submit a completed application.

EMT - Emergency Medical Technician
