New Mexico EMS Exams Information
New Mexico EMR Exams
Any EMS First Responder or EMT candidate who graduated from a New Mexico EMS First Responder or EMT course is required to complete the National Registry written exam in order to be eligible for EMS licensure.

New Mexico AEMT Exams
Any AEMT candidate who graduated from a New Mexico AEMT program is required to complete the National Registry written exam in order to be eligible for EMS licensure.

New Mexico Paramedic Exams
Any Paramedic candidate who graduated from a New Mexico paramedic course is required to complete the National Registry written exam in order to be eligible for EMS licensure.

Requirements for New Mexico EMS Certification
EMR - Emergency Medical Responder
To become a First Responder in New Mexico you must complete a First Responder program, successfully pass the National Registry exam, and pay $25 to the EMS Bureau.

EMT - Emergency Medical Technician
To become an EMT in New Mexico you must complete an EMT program, successfully pass the National Registry exam, and pay $65 to the EMS Bureau.

AEMT - Advanced Emergency Medical Technician
EMT-Intermediate has now transitioned to the AEMT license in New mexico. To become an AEMT in New Mexico you must complete an AEMT program, successfully pass the National Registry exam and pay $75 to the EMS bureau.

EMT-P - Paramedic
If you are a recent graduate of a New Mexico EMS training institution, you will need the following documents: copy of your course completion certificate, copy of your ACLS and CPR card, copy of your current NREMT-P card, copy of your New Mexico EMT license, $85 payment to the EMS Bureau, and a completed application.
