Montana EMR Exams
To become an EMR in Montana you must pass the National Registry or state exam.

Montana EMT Exams
To become an EMT in Montana students are allowed to take the National Registry written and practical exams after course completion. The written exam is computer based and offered across the country. The practical exam is offered at the end of the EMT course consisting of real-life emergency scenarios.

Requirements for Montana EMS Certification
EMR - Emergency Medical Responder

EMT - Emergency Medical Technician
To become an EMT in Montana you must be at least 18 years old, complete an EMT program, and pass the NREMT. For more information please reach out to Montana Office of EMS.
AEMT - Advanced Emergency Medical Technician

EMT-P - Paramedic
Required Paramedic program admissions qualifications in Montana include: Current National Registry Certification as an EMT; EMT or AEMT state licensure prior to enrollment of a Program; and Current certification in BLS HCP (CPR).
