Idaho EMS Exams Information

Idaho EMR Exams

The NREMT exam is required for Idaho EMR licenses. Successful completion of these examinations is required to apply for an Idaho EMS license. All candidates must register online with NREMT: Instructions for candidate registration for the computer-based written examination at a Pearson VUE Test Center. Pearson VUE Centers are located in Boise, Coeur d’Alene, Idaho Falls, Lewiston, Pocatello, Twin Falls, and Spokane, Washington.

Requirements for Idaho EMS Certification

EMR - Emergency Medical Responder

To become a licensed EMR in Idaho you must: Successfully complete your EMS Course. Pass the National Registry of EMT’s (NREMT) computer-based written examination and the practical examination.  Successful completion of these examinations is required to apply for an Idaho EMS license. Submit to and pass a Criminal History Check by the Department of Health and Welfare. Secure affiliation with an Idaho licensed EMS agency. Complete and submit an Initial Provider Application, which includes a copy of your photo ID. (Acceptable forms of ID are: driver’s license, state identification card, and military identification card)
