EMR - Emergency Medical Responder
As an Emergency Medical Responder in Delaware you must be at least 16 years old, and complete an EMR course (40 hours).

EMT - Emergency Medical Technician
The State of Delaware requires all EMTs, complete and EMT training program, complete an application, pass a background check, have CPR certification.

AEMT - Advanced Emergency Medical Technician
Delaware does not offer AEMT licenses.
EMT-P - Paramedic
The State of Delaware requires all paramedics be affiliated with a Delaware approved ALS provider agency prior to beginning the state certification and licensure process. This process requires meeting all of the education requirements of the Office of Emergency Medical Services and the Delaware Division of Professional Regulation, Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline. All paramedics practicing in Delaware must hold and maintain the following certifications: NREMT-P, BCLS - Healthcare Provider, ACLS, PALS, PTLS or ITLS (replaces BTLS).
